Where is Wanstead test centre?

The centre is in the Wanstead area on the edge of Epping Forest, close to the busy A12, the Green Man roundabout and Wanstead Flats. It serves a wide spread of central and east London postcodes.

What are the test routes like?

Wanstead routes combine quieter, leafy residential streets near the Flats with fast, demanding main roads and large junctions toward Leytonstone and the A12. Expect multi lane roundabouts, bus lanes, cyclists and plenty of independent driving sections. The DVSA no longer publishes official routes, but our instructors know the roads examiners favour and will have you practise them in advance.

What is the pass rate at Wanstead?

In 2024/25 Wanstead’s car practical pass rate was around 40 percent, below the national average of roughly 48.7 percent and one of the lower rates in London, partly because of demanding junctions like the Charlie Brown’s and Redbridge roundabouts.
