What Pass Plus covers
The course is made up of six practical modules, with no test at the end, just steady, assessed practice:
- Town driving and complex junctions
- All weather driving and dealing with poor conditions
- Driving on rural roads and country lanes
- Night driving and using your lights correctly
- Dual carriageways at higher speeds
- Motorway driving, which most learners never experience before passing
Insurance savings
Many, though not all, insurers offer a discount to drivers who complete Pass Plus, and some telematics and young driver policies recognise it too. Savings vary, so it is worth checking with your insurer before you book. Even where the saving is modest, the experience of driving a motorway with expert guidance is well worth having.
Why take Pass Plus?
The first year after passing is statistically the riskiest time on the road. Pass Plus gives you real, guided experience of motorways and fast roads while an instructor is still beside you, so you are not facing them alone for the first time. That extra confidence is valuable in itself, and the potential insurance saving with participating insurers can offset much of the course cost.
How to book
Pass Plus is taken after you pass, usually within the first few months while everything is still fresh. Talk to us about fitting the six modules around your schedule, we can often complete them over a short series of sessions. Manual or automatic, we will build the course around the roads near you.
