The DVSA’s own guidance suggests most people need around 45 hours of professional lessons plus roughly 20 hours of private practice before they are ready to pass. - Private practice. If a family member can take you out between lessons, you will usually need fewer paid hours.
- Your starting point. Complete beginners need more time than someone returning after a break or with experience abroad.

How to spend fewer hours
